The corporate ladder is worth climbing.
This is the passion, and the motto, of Roto-Rooter President Rick Arquilla, star of the CBS Television Series “Undercover Boss.”
Whatever business you are in – whatever field you choose – does not matter; how you choose to run that business does.
This and other “Lessons in Leadership” are the agenda for the March monthly luncheon of Greater Cincinnati SMPS, to be held today from 11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the original Montgomery Inn in Montgomery.
Added incentive: bosses of SMPS members are invited to attend at the SMPS Member level ($25). Normally, the cost would be $45.
Arquilla is the President and COO of Roto-Rooter Services Co., North America’s largest provider of plumbing repair and drain services. He is based at the Roto-Rooter corporate HQ on Vine Street in Downtown Cincinnati.
In 1989, Arquilla joined Roto-Rooter as a Vice President.
In 1996, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations.
Three years later, in 1999, he was named to the post he holds to this day.
Arquilla’s tenure has been marked by landmark sales and operating profit growth, both of which doubled from 1999 to 2009.
Rick was on the CBS Television series twice, airing in the U.S. and Canada in April and July of last year.
Before – during – and most assuredley after his SMPS gig, Rick will undoubtedly have his mind on his Ohio State Buckeyes, as well.
The Buckeyes play their first-round March Madness game against the Roadrunners of Texas-San Antonio tomorrow.
Rick earned his B.S. in Business Administration from The Ohio State University.
Arquilla lives in Cincinnati with his wife and three daughters.
