Holland Advertising: Interactive and The Fast Track to ROI Marketing Plan

Cincinnati’s original ad agency offers path to marketing ROI in about 90 days.

Holland-Hemmer PR Partnership features former Business Courier journalist.

[CINCINNATI, Ohio ~ April 4, 2014] Ninety days can be a lifetime in the wacky business world of 2014, with the life and death of a business on the line every waking moment.

Cognizant of change – arbiter of experience – and buffed-out by four generations in the advertising and marketing game, Cincinnati’s original ad agency, Holland Advertising: Interactive (www.hollandadvertising.com) now offers a path to marketing ROI in that same timeframe – 90 days – using its proprietary Marketing Business Builder” and The Fast Track to ROI Marketing Plan.”

When we started in the business of building businesses, Howard Hughes was flying jets and FDR was still in the White House,” said Bryan Holland, principal of the Kenwood-based agency founded in 1937.

Bryan runs the shop with his brother, Mark Holland, and Mark’s daughter Lauren Bausano.

What we’ve learned, in conjunction with the legacy of so many Cincinnati companies, is how to strategically invest marketing dollars to successfully achieve a company’s business goalsThis is about identifying a company’s unique selling proposition, strategically crafting their brand story, reaching new customers, discovering new sales opportunities, and achieving real business change and results for your brand,” Mark Holland  said.

Cincinnati’s original and oldest ad agency grew up as a family, alongside The Queen City and its most famous brands, shaping a local industry along the way.

Holland recently relocated to CBank Office Park in Kenwood – this location offers ease and convenience for clients, colleagues and associates, at the Montgomery Road exit off Interstate 71.

The Holland-Hemmer PR Partnership

Late last year, Holland Advertising: Interactive created a new division, Holland-Hemmer PR, in conjunction with Cincinnati native Andy Hemmer (www.thewritingfiendatlarge.com), a former journalist and reporter/editor who worked 10 years at The Cincinnati Business Courier.

Bringing Holland-Hemmer PR to our clients is a value-added strategy to provide them cutting-edge PR services with a journalistic pro,” Bryan Holland said of Hemmer, named “Insider MVP” at The Business Courier for seven consecutive years. “What we’ve done is formalize a partnership that we’ve had since 2007,” said Hemmer.

Holland Advertising: Interactive proudly offers Fresh ideas. Experienced Execution. Greater ROI (In about 90 days) to an esteemed clientele, and is open for additional new business.

Cincinnati’s original advertising agency, Holland Advertising: Interactive, stokes the family tradition with a financial flair as the 4th Generation member of the Holland family, Lauren (Holland) Bausano, joins the Kenwood-based agency.

Lauren, who has previously worked at the agency in various creative, media and customer service roles, recently rejoined Holland as Accounting Manager.

Although her degree is a B.A. in Advertising from Ball State University, Bausano has decided to “follow the numbers” in her professional life, developing a career in corporate finance. She’s currently attending to post-graduate studies to add a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation to her resume.

As Cincinnati’s original advertising agency, I’ve grown up in the Holland tradition of ‘Fresh Ideas, Experienced Execution, and Greater ROI (in about 90 days),” Bausano said.

Working with our clients, helping them achieve and supersede their marketing goals, has put me on the edge of the creative environment, while making sure all of the numbers add up.”

Bausano grew up in Madeira. A newlywed, Lauren was just recently wed to Jake Bausano of Cincinnati. The couple brings the next generation of family spirit to Holland – along with their honorary greeters, the family hounds Brinkley and Cubbie.

Today’s Holland Advertising: Interactive thrives with the same passion and creativity of its founders.

The Holland mission today is another jingle, which resonates particularly well with business owners: “Fresh ideas. Experienced Execution. Greater ROI. (In about 90 days).”

Holland Advertising: Interactive IS Cincinnati’s original advertising agency, founded in 1937.

Holland has grown and diversified its services along with its clients’ business, signature Cincinnati brands such as BB Riverboats, Towne Properties, Enquirer Media, Fifth Third Bank, Mullaney’s Pharmacy and Medical Supply, Advance Dentistry, Ohio Heart and Vascular Center, The Rug Gallery, Meister International, BGR Packaging Solutions, Kaeser and Blair and others.

Holland Advertising: Interactive Turns 75

Booting Bill with Six Words: Fresh ideas. Experienced Execution. Greater ROI.

[CINCINNATI, Ohio – Jan. 13, 2013] Two years ago, this 75-year-old downtown advertising agency – the fourth oldest family-owned agency in the nation – ditched the stodgy, staid image of company founder William (Bill) F. Holland in favor of a six-word brand tagline and a complete rebranding effort.

Booting Bill,” as it were.

Bill, in the middle, before he was booted. Mark Holland is on the left, brother Bryan on the right.

Bill, in the middle, before he was booted. Mark Holland is on the left, brother Bryan on the right.

What emerged?

Fresh ideas. Experienced execution. Greater ROI,” explains Bryan Holland, co-owner of the third-generation agency with his brother, Mark Holland.

We help clients identify their unique selling proposition and tell their brand story, so when we put ourselves under the microscope, it was a very comfortable exercise,” Bryan Holland continues.

Each client is unique, with specific marketing challenges, so we have to customize a plan for each client’s business. We identify their goals, and then develop a strategic marketing plan, and deliver on it,” says Bryan.

The same strategy pertains to us, when we look at ourselves.”

The Holland advertising:interactive team delivers creative solutions, whether it’s a new digital marketing strategy, better-targeted media, more effective branding or greater measurement tracking. It’s all about providing a different perspective, with fresh ideas, and maximizing investment.

The agency works within its client’s budgets, to reallocate marketing investments, recommend strategies to achieve goals, and take companies to the proverbial next level. Mark and Bryan Holland each have over 30 years of experience in the marketing industry.

Two years ago, Scott E. Sayre, DDS, owner of Advance Family & Implant Dentistry in Cincinnati, had a cumbersome name, a business growth strategy, a budget and a dream. What he needed was the experience of an ad agency, one that could develop a comprehensive plan to help him realize his goals.

Holland advertising interactive in Cincinnati Enquirer Sunday Edition - 1.13.13 - PR by Andy Hemmer

Holland brought fantastic, fresh, new creative ideas and a marketing strategy to the table. Their program showed me exactly what return I was getting, from every dollar we invested in media. We sought their counsel as part of our strategic plan to increase the number of new patients every month,” said Sayre.

We started this two years ago. I knew that if we could reach the right people, with the message, we could increase our practice, add a fourth dentist and add to the size of the building.”

Dr. Sayre’s practice, now known as Advance Dentistry, has met its monthly growth goal 23 out of the past 24 months. And Dr. Sayre opened a new wing to his Fairfax facility this past summer.

What worked for Dr. Sayre and Advance Dentistry?

The same recipe and six-word slogan that booted Bill.

The actual, literal, Booting of Bill. Hasta La Vista, Grandpa Holland!

The actual, literal, Booting of Bill. Hasta La Vista, Grandpa Holland!

Fresh ideas. Experienced execution. Greater ROI,” explains Bryan.

Whether it’s 2013, and I am working on branding, advertising, website development, SEO or sales literature, or it’s back in 1937 when my grandfather was helping iconic Cincinnati brands such as Marmer’s Shoes get on the radio, every brand has a story to be told,” Mark Holland said.

The song may be the same, essentially, but today’s market-savvy customers demand more.

Everybody want to know the secret to what part of marketing works. Why not track it?” adds Mark Holland. “And that’s exactly what we preach.

Each and every piece of media, and the tools used within, whether it’s a television ad, radio or print, is linked to a different phone number. When the call comes in to the client, it’s logged through a digital web portal and tagged a unique identifying phone number.

The result: A greater understanding of the most elusive element in advertising, the quantifiable dollar.

21st Century Advertising: Metrics, not Myths

It’s not a myth, it’s metrics,” Mark Holland says. “It’s a powerful, robust tool that delivers one of the things that clients are forever seeking: the cost-per-lead.”

The collected data, in return, then allows Holland clients to most effectively execute their strategy.

It’s the ‘Holy Grail’ of advertising: what are your lead costs, per every specific ad, what do they mean, and most importantly, what do we do with it?” Bryan Holland said.

Holland’s forte has evolved over the years, staying in-tune with the changes in the industry.

In addition to traditional marketing strategies, the Holland advertising:interactive business has shifted to digital strategies, including websites, search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click marketing, redirect campaigns, banner ads, e-mail marketing and social media.

Since we started with Holland in 1998 our overall sales have tripled,” says Tom Mullaney, owner of Mullaney’s Pharmacy and Medical Supply in Pleasant Ridge.

Their execution is impeccable. They’ve been right on the money every time,” Mullaney said.

This past September, Mullaney’s growth facilitated a new pharmacy that opened in West Chester; another new pharmacy is being planned at an as-yet undisclosed Greater Cincinnati site for the second quarter of 2013.

At Mullaney’s, the Holland team successfully planned and executed an integrated marketing strategy that coordinated website development, SEO marketing, TV ads, targeted direct mail, online banner ads, newspaper ads and a billboard.

For longtime Holland client Meister International Inc., a distributor of quality porcelain insulators and bushings to switchgear and transformer manufacturers around the world, Holland successfully rebranded the company via a new web site.

In addition, Holland is generating qualified sales leads through their unique pay for performance SEO marketing strategy. Meister sales have grown at a minimum of 20 percent for the last five years.

The people at Holland know what’s important to my business. They consistently bring new ideas, which have helped me achieve my sales goals,” said owner Mark Meister.
