Press Release as PDF: Northwestern Mutual – The Kelley Financial Group recognizes United Way of Greater Cincinnati with $50,000 – Northwestern Mutual Foundation 2013 Community Impact Award – 4.9.13 Release
MILWAUKEE – April 9, 2013 – Without the assistance of the Freestore Foodbank, more than 7,500 children in the Greater Cincinnati area would be a little hungrier each month. More than 18 million pounds of food is distributed each year by Freestore, a United Way agency partner, to the area’s most vulnerable residents.
Northwestern Mutual – The Kelley Financial Group recognizes this community need and supports this organization and others through its partnership with United Way of Greater Cincinnati. Approximately 96 employees from the office have logged more than 240 volunteer hours this past year helping at the Freestore Foodbank, building developmental toys, assembling literacy kits and assisting at a children’s camp.
Northwestern Mutual, through its Foundation, is recognizing The Kelley Financial Group with its 2013 Community Impact Award. The annual regional award recognizes Northwestern Mutual offices that demonstrate exemplary service with a local nonprofit. In addition, the award secures a $50,000 grant for United Way of Greater Cincinnati.
The $50,000 grant will be used to support United Way of Greater Cincinnati’s mission to lead and mobilize the caring power of individuals and organizations to help people measurably improve their lives.
“Whenever our office has been approached by United Way with a volunteer opportunity, we have always had enthusiastic volunteers come forward. Our employees know that you can’t buy the memories you make from helping others.”
United Way of Greater Cincinnati supports programs on education, income and health, with a mission of creating a better life for all in the Greater Cincinnati region.
“United Way depends on community support to further our mission of improving the lives of those around us,” said Robert Reifsnyder, president, United Way of Greater Cincinnati.
“Northwestern Mutual is a perfect example of a company that truly invests time and financial support in the community in which they operate.”
“The Kelley Financial Group is making sure that children in the Greater Cincinnati area don’t go hungry,” said John Kordsmeier, president, Northwestern Mutual Foundation.
“This grant will help United Way of Greater Cincinnati continue to fund organizations such as Freestore Foodbank that provide such important social services to the community.”
